Numerous clinics have already taken part in the “Jerusalem Dance Challenge”, including Stuttgart Airport. Now the Esslingen Clinic has also uploaded a video to the social networks.

Esslingen – Humor seems to be an important part of daily work at the Esslingen Clinic. The workforce only showed this a few weeks ago with a parody of the German government’s “Together against Corona” commercial. Yesterday the emergency room staff uploaded a new video: They took part in the “Jerusalema Dance Challenge”.

The video starts in the courtyard of the clinic. Some employees dance out between parked ambulances, the blue lights are on. They clap to the beat of the music, the song “Jerusalema” by the South African artist Master KG. Then the song builds up. The employees bob and clap in the hallways, in the foyer, on the helipad, and even in the operating room. The mood is exuberant, the rhythm is stirring.

Even a drone is used

Numerous clinics all over Germany have taken part in the challenge. The employees at Stuttgart Airport also uploaded a video at the beginning of November.

“The whole thing was an idea of the employees from the central emergency room,” says Anja Dietze, the press spokeswoman for the Esslingen Clinic. An employee’s brother-in-law filmed and edited the short film – he even shot it with a drone. Meanwhile, the actors from the emergency room were practicing the correct sequence of steps. All in all, according to Dietze, the shoot took about five hours.

“It all came about from personal commitment,” explains the press spokeswoman. “We want to signal: Let’s master this together, let’s stick together.” So far, the clinic has only received good feedback for the video.

When asked by the critics whether the employees had more important things to do than making funny films, Dietze replied: “Of course we are very stressed. But just then, in these difficult times, such signs of togetherness are especially valuable. “
