Jeroen was put to the test every Monday morning in the NPO Radio2 morning show Jan-Willem starts up, where he works as a sidekick. Presenter Jan-Willem Roodbeen as well as the listeners bombarded him with questions about the episode of the previous Saturday. While there, Jeroen consciously ‘misses’ about his exit, he almost really fell through during the recordings in Italy.

He relates: “We were about to take the boat to Elba and the night before Ron, Patrick, Peggy and I were eating and speculating what was going on; Tygo and Nikkie are gone and what is wrong? happened to them? Of course I knew exactly what had happened to them, so at one point I said at the table: ‘And if we have them freed tomorrow’, after which Peggy looks at me and says: ‘Freed them?’ ” Oops!
