Jerez football is in mourning. Fabio Padillo left us at the age of 31 this morning. The exporter of Xerez CD and Jerez Industrial, among other sports clubs, has not been able to overcome the harsh illness that they detected him at the beginning of 2019 and by which He mobilized the entire city with his call to donate blood at the beginning of June 2022 after his scheduled intervention was postponed due to lack of reserves. The response was massive and the queues crowded at the Blood Transfusion Center of the Jerez Hospital. His message on social networks went viral: “I need you, and so do many people we don’t even know. I am awaiting surgery for a brain tumor for which I already had surgery three years ago. Well, they can’t intervene with me, the blood reserve in the province of Cádiz is zero and nothing can be born other than postponing everything.”
He himself, very grateful and excited, recognized that the reaction of the people of Jerez had left him “in a state of shock”. A few days later, the former goalkeeper was admitted to the Puerta del Mar hospital in Cádiz for his second operation. Everything went as planned. After leaving the hospital, Fabio himself said that the operation had been a success and that he was already at home with his partner and his two young children. He did it through a nice video of him leaving the Cádiz hospital wearing the blue team shirt and goalkeeper pants. That summer he was able to fulfill his dream of getting married.
Last October he asked for help again. His health had worsened and he was bedridden. He needed a new home adapted to your needs, on the ground floor and a shower tray. In this case it was Agustín Regueragoalkeeper coach at the TPJ Sport Academy, with whom Padillo collaborated, who turned to social networks to launch this new SOS.
In November, during the III Francisco Collantes ‘Tato’ Memorial, the organizers kept Fabio in mind, to whom they dedicated a t-shirt and sent him all the strength in the world “to win this match.” It couldn’t be, the young athlete has left, leaving deep regret in the world of Jerez football.
Since early in the morning there have been messages of condolences from the clubs.kiss The first to do so have been his blue family: Xerez CD, in whose ranks he played in the 14/15 season, as well as in his quarry. Jerez Industrial, a team in which he played for two seasons, has also “deeply” regretted the death of the Jerez goalkeeper.

The Xerez DFC has also shown its condolences on its social networks, conveying “our deepest condolences.” The funeral for his eternal rest will be held this Thursday at 9:00 a.m. in the Church of the Risen Christ of the South Zone Mortuary. D.E.P
