Shortly after the accident, Renner felt that he would not survive. He took out his phone and wrote some notes for his family. “If I had been there alone, I would have died a terrible death. Sure.”
Renner was seriously injured in a snowplow accident on New Year’s Day. He tried to prevent his nephew from being hit by the snowplow and ended up under the vehicle himself. The actor broke about thirty bones, suffered internal chest injuries and injured his legs. Still, he said he would do it all over again. “Because that device went straight to my nephew.”
Renner is known for his role in The hurt locker, for which he received an Oscar nomination for best actor in 2010. The following year he had another chance, this time in the best supporting actor category The Town. He also stars in Clint Barton/Hawkeye The AvengersMarvel movies.
