A real superhero comes back to life!

US actor Jeremy Renner (51) sends a life signal from the hospital. The ‘Avengers’ superstar posted a photo Tuesday afternoon (local time) cheering fans around the world.

The injuries from his horrific snowplow accident are still clearly visible. Renner wears a patient gown with a clear tube attached to his nose. The 51-year-old has tousled hair and his glasses are askew on his face. His left eye is bloodshot and looks swollen. Despite the large bruises on the left side of his face, friends, family and fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Why: Renner is better!

The short caption also shows that the American is slowly recovering from his New Year’s Eve crash. “Thank you for the kind words. I’m too broken to type right now. But I send love to you all,” Renner wrote to his 18.5 million Instagram followers. Fellow Marvel Chris Hemsworth (39, plays “Thor”) commented, “Get well soon, mate. Cheers in your direction!” Many other showbiz greats wished a speedy recovery, including Heidi Klum, Selena Gomez, Chris Pratt and Orlando Bloom.

Now there is new information about the accident that almost cost Renner his life. The California native lost a large amount of blood on Jan. 1 after sustaining serious injuries to his head, legs and upper body from a seven-ton snow blower. “At the time of writing, we believe it was a tragic accident,” Sheriff Darin Balaam said Tuesday.

As a result, Renner got hit by the car when he wanted to free the stuck car of a family member. After freeing the car, Renner got out and spoke to his family member. “The snow groomer started turning. When he tried to stop him, Mr. Renner wanted to get into the driver’s seat,” Balaam said at a press conference. “Here Mr. Renner was run over.”

The incident occurred near Renner’s isolated mountain ranch on Lake Tahoe, Nevada. There had been 90cm of fresh snow the night before. A helicopter took the seriously injured to Reno, about 40 kilometers away, where medics saved his life.
