Actor Jeremy Renner was seriously injured in the chest and legs the accident in which he was involved on New Year’s Day. His spokesman reports it in an update. Previously it had only been reported that he had been hospitalized in “critical but stable condition”.
The 51-year-old actor was clearing the way to his home in the US state of Nevada in a snowmobile when it went awry. For an unknown cause, he ended up under his so-called snowcat. In the last few days it had snowed heavily in that region.

Police are still investigating what went wrong; the snowcat should have safety features that make this type of accident impossible. Renner’s vehicle was the only one involved in the accident.
