Jeremy Jackson’s controversial confessions about his days on ‘Baywatch’

For some, going through adolescence is one of the most difficult times of their lives. For actor Jeremy Jackson, his teenage years meant spending more than a decade surrounded by red swim trunks. The actor was lucky enough to play one of the most coveted roles of the time: Hobie Buchannon, the son of Mitch (David Hasselhoff) in Baywatch.

It was the hit series of the 90s, but as always, not all that glitters is gold. This has been demonstrated in the recently released docuseries on the American channel ABC News, After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun, which sheds light on everything that happened behind the cameras with its famous protagonists. He is now 43 years old, but like the teenager he was then, Jackson revealed some secrets, to say the least questionable.

Jeremy Jackson has been recounting the reality of his adolescence for years, and it turns out that he was just as problematic as his character, Hobie Buchannon, who in his rebellious years became a real headache for Mitch.

In the documentary, the actor revealed that he would sneak into his co-stars’ trailers as they returned home from filming each day with one mission: to smell their used swimsuits.

“I usually sneaked into the trailers [de las mujeres] after they were done and I would grab their dirty bathing suits. Let’s just say I smelled every… of Baywatch,” Jackson shared, adding that he found the scent of the women on the show “irresistible.”

The actor also revealed that this attraction was tremendously important to one of his colleagues, Nicole Eggert, who played Summer Quinn in the series and who is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer that was diagnosed in 2023. “Nicole [Eggert] “It was the most important one, without a doubt,” the actor adds. “We had a very intimate moment, she and I, which she never found out about.”

Luckily for him, Nicole Eggert was not only not surprised by the revelation, but applauded his honesty. “I’m not even mad at that teenage Jeremy. He went through puberty on a show like that. I love the adult Jeremy, for being honest with the 14-year-old Jeremy.”

Jeremy Jackson was only ten years old when he was chosen – over other candidates such as Leonardo DiCaprio – to play Hobie Buchannon in Baywatch. The actor remained in the series until its end. During this time, the actor also battled an addiction to methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana which brought about the beginning of the end of his career.

“When you haven’t slept for five days and you’ve been smoking meth, to have someone look you in the eye and say, ‘Dude, are you okay? ’ That’s the worst thing that can happen to you,” Jackson says. “What happened was I got too big for myself and thought I was better than Baywatch, or that I was going to go do my own thing,” he confessed. “One day I just walked out with my middle finger up in the air and said, ‘Fuck you, I’m not coming back to this set. ’ And I walked off the show.”

His problems with the law were not long in coming. In 2017 he was jailed for stabbing. “I was definitely going down the drain. My life was slipping through my fingers like sand.”

Fortunately, Jackson was able to recover. Since 2015, he has worked to fight his addictions and become a personal trainer. Smiling, he appeared alongside colleagues such as Carmen Electra, Alexandra Paul and Michael Newman at the premiere of the documentary.
