Can Seung-ho Baek (24 Darumstadt) advance into the K-League? The ball passed to Suwon Samsung in K League 1 (Part 1). This is because Jeonbuk Hyundai, which has been negotiating transfers with Darmstadt (Germany), has decided to’hold the recruitment’.
This is due to the fact that Baek Seung-ho, who had been through Maetanjung, a Suwon youth, made a sign-up agreement with Suwon (when advancing to the K-League) and received financial support while heading for FC Barcelona (Spain) youth. On the 22nd, the head of Jeonbuk Baek Seung-kwon said, “The recruitment of Baek Seung-ho has been stopped. Suwon is a member of the league and a partner. As new facts that could not be confirmed were found when promoting recruitment, we can move only when the relationship with Suwon is resolved.”
Jeonbuk, who wanted to sign Seung-ho Baek, received a reply from the Spanish Football Association through the Korean Football Association saying that the “professional contract has exceeded 5 years”, and it is true that they approached the transfer agreement after setting up a negotiation table with Darmstadt. However, the contract is not signed. There was no personal negotiation table. The K-League winter transfer market is closed, but foreign transfer players are allowed to register until the end of March.
At first, Jeonbuk planned to finish the negotiations after Baek Seung-ho returned to Korea, but Suwon recently released his contract with the player and left the negotiations. Baek Seung-ho agreed to enroll in Maetanjung under Suwon in 2009, but in March 2010, he had an opportunity to study in Barcelona. At that time, Suwon and Baek Seung-ho promised to go to Maetango and wrote an agreement to support 100 million won each year for three years, and received actual support.
Later, as the contract between Baek Seung-ho and Barcelona was extended, it became difficult to go to Maetango, so in early 2013, a second contract was written. Here, it contains the content that’when returning to the K-League, we promise to join Suwon, and in case of violation, we will return the support fee and claim damages’.
The K-League stipulated that’each club must withdraw from the original team or seek consent when recruiting a player from another team’s youth’, but the contract between Baek Seung-ho and Suwon was made before September 2012, when this rule was enacted. As a result, Jeonbuk may end the recruitment, but it has made an internal decision to respect Suwon’s position. Suwon Director Oh Dong-seok delivered the situation to Jeonbuk last weekend.
At this point, the clearest way Suwon will take is to restore Baek Seung-ho according to the contract. Baek Seung-ho, who aims to participate in the Tokyo Olympics, wants to be verified in Korea. Negotiations with Darmstadt are required again, but this is not impossible. Baek Seung-ho’s pure transfer fee is set in the range of 800 million to 900 million won. Suwon put little money in the winter transfer market.
Another direction is to renounce the rights of the players, but Suwon cannot easily withdraw because he received a’legal review’ by the parent company Cheil Worldwide’s legal team. The final scenario is to apologize for the fact that Seung-ho Baek first contacted Jeonbuk, and then pay the support fund and a partial penalty to clear up the relationship with Suwon.
