Jeon Geon-hyeop urges Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport for smooth supply guidance amid cement shortage crisis.

“Remicon companies in Gangwon-do are limiting shipments to production of less than 100 cubic meters per day due to limited storage of cement bulk vehicles. In particular, Hoengseong-gun is facing a huge setback in construction even though it needs quick restoration due to a disaster last year.”

“Currently, government-grade ready-mixed concrete and ascon are difficult to obtain on time during the peak season, and prices are on the high side due to price fixing. In addition, the change in the price of ready-mixed concrete is not applied from the construction afterward, but retroactively applied to the construction that has already been completed, so the contractor is suffering damage and needs improvement.”

On the 27th, the Korea Professional Construction Association (Jeongeonhyeop) Central Association (Chairman Yoon Hak-soo) suggested that the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport come forward to resolve the shortage, as complaints from member companies such as this due to the recent lack of cement supply continued through Koska Talk.

According to an investigation by the Jeonkunhyup, there are a growing number of cases where the supply of ready-mixed concrete is not smooth due to a shortage of cement, which hinders the progress of construction work.

This was found to be due to a decrease in cement production as the cement industry expanded investment in eco-friendly facilities in line with government policies such as ‘2050 carbon neutrality’.

Currently, 10 out of 35 firing furnaces owned by 7 large cement manufacturers are undergoing remodeling, and all 7 companies are limiting shipments of cement accordingly.

Due to this influence, the cement inventory is currently 600,000 tons, which is only half of the normal year’s 1.2 million tons, and there are concerns about delays in the construction period and construction management disruptions, burden of additional construction costs, and delays in moving in due to supply and demand disruptions such as limited stocking of ready-mixed concrete. am.

The Jeongeonhyup asked related ministries such as the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs to urge and guide the cement industry to smoothly supply cement.
