Jens T Andersson has chosen to step into a role as sporting director for Nefttji Baku PFC in Azerbaijan. He is thereby leaving his current position as overall national team manager at the Swedish Football Association.
– The assignment as national team manager has been very stimulating. Getting to work with Swedish national team football, and all the extremely competent people involved, has been extremely fun and developing – I am grateful for this.
– Consequently, it was not an easy decision to make. But Nefttji Baku wants to build a strong club team operation with international ambitions, and offers attractive conditions to achieve this. Leading that work is attractive, it is a challenge I have decided to accept, says Jens T Andersson.
SvFF’s general secretary Håkan Sjöstrand:
– Jens T Andersson has done a very good job as national team manager. It’s sad that he chooses to move on, but I respect and understand the decision. We wish him all the best in his new assignment.
Jens T Andersson will remain at SvFF until October 18. The recruitment of a new overall national team manager will begin shortly.
