Assisted with, among other things, conversations
Minister of Finance Trygve Slagsvold Vedum (Sp) has previously reported in one written answer to the Storting that the recruitment agency has assisted the ministry in conducting interviews during the recruitment process.
«Prior to drafting the announcement text for the position as central bank governor, the ministry conducted interviews with a number of relevant persons, from the Executive Board, Norges Bank’s management, NBIM, relevant specialist departments in the ministry and Norges Bank’s supervisory board. The purpose of such conversations is to obtain the best possible basis for designing the content of the announcement text. What will be Stoltenberg’s new salary?
As is well known, it was Jens Stoltenberg who pulled the longest straw, but his position in NATO does not expire until 1 October. Thus, Ida Wolden Bache will act as central bank governor from March until Stoltenberg joins the job in the autumn.
Stoltenberg currently has a tax-free annual income of just under three million as NATO Secretary General. It is the Ministry of Finance that determines the salary of the Governor. However, it is unknown what kind of salary Stoltenberg may have negotiated.
“The employment contract between Jens Stoltenberg and the Ministry of Finance has not been entered into yet,” the Ministry of Finance informs Nettavisen.
“We can therefore not answer questions about the incoming central bank governor Stoltenberg’s annual salary.”
