Jens Ritter and Andreas Otto are leaving the Austrian national airline. This means that two out of three Austrian Airlines board members are leaving. Successors have already been found.
Andreas Otto has been Chief Commercial Officer and board member of Austrian Airlines for six years. At the end of 2020, the German will leave the boardroom again. He will leave the company at “his own request in order to“ devote himself to new tasks outside of the Lufthansa Group ”, the airline announced on Wednesday (December 9th).
His successor is, subject to the decision of the AUA supervisory board, the native Austrian Michael Trestl. The 35-year-old with a doctorate in business administration began his career in 2011 as a business development manager at Edelweiss in Zurich and switched to Swiss in 2014. There he was most recently network manager.
Still no own CFO
Otto is not the only one leaving the top management of Austrian Airlines. Jens Ritter is also leaving the board. The previous Chief Operating Officer will become a member of the management team at Eurowings. The German only became a member of the extended Austrian leadership in April 2020. He is to be followed by Francesco Sciortino (47), who is currently working for Germanwings. Here, too, the AUA supervisory board still has to give its blessing.
After Wolfgang Jani’s departure at the end of August 2020, the Board of Management department for finance will continue to be vacant. Therefore, CEO Alexis von Hoensbroech will continue to act as CEO and CFO.
