Jenny Stray Spetalen Gets Caught Smuggling Cottage Cheese at Oslo Airport

The Stray Spetalen family has traveled to the famous Saint-Barthélemy, also known as St. Barths, in the Caribbean for this year’s Christmas celebration. The journey was documented by Sophie Stray Spetalen (20) on Snapchat on Tuesday.

Already when she and her sister Jenny Stray Spetalen (21) were going through the security check at Oslo Airport Gardermoen, they ran into problems.

“Jenny was caught in ‘security’ because of cottage cheese,” writes Sophie on a photo, which shows the luggage belt and a guard with gloves examining her sister’s bag.

– She became a threat, the sister continues.

“Now she has to explain herself and what motives she had for smuggling cottage cheese across national borders,” writes Sophie with a humorous undertone.

Responds to criticism

It is not known whether the older sisters were allowed to take the “smuggler’s goods” with them, but it should not have been just one box.

“Jenny tried to smuggle cottage cheese through security and it didn’t go according to plan. She was stopped 3 times because she had smuggled 5 buckets of cottage cheese. She also has to go through an extra check because they think she can have more,” laughs Sophie in the next video where she films herself talking.

The situation has apparently resolved itself, since the family is now in place in a luxury villa on the celebrity island in the Caribbean.

Had Spetalen checked Avinor’s websites before departure, she would probably have learned that it is not allowed to carry liquid on planes – unless it is packed in smaller packages in a plastic bag. The maximum limit per passenger is one litre.

“Everything that is liquid, spreadable or in gaseous form is covered by the rules for liquids. Frozen liquids are still considered liquids. For example, water, soft drinks, wine, spreads, jelly, cream, deodorant, perfume, lip gloss, mascara, toothpaste, shaving foam, spray cans and objects with similar consistencies,” it says.

The cottage cheese problem has been committed by several people in the past. In 2007, NRK legend Trond-Viggo Torgersen (71) reacted strongly when he was refused boarding on a plane because of the semi-liquid lunch cheese, according to The online newspaper.

Jenny Spetalen and Sophie Spetalen have not answered Dagbladet’s inquiries.
