Jennifer Strina: Continuing the Legacy of La Fournée on rue Folco-de-Baroncelli with L’Histoire sans Faim

Jennifer Strina, daughter of restaurateurs, took over a business on rue Foloc-de-Baroncelli.

It was previously La Fournée: Jennifer Strina, Jen to the customers, took over the business on rue Folco-de-Baroncelli last August and renamed it L’His…Toire sans Faim for personal emotional reasons. It’s a hot spot for bread, focaccia, pastries and pastries; On the other hand, the quiches, pizzas and sandwiches are homemade with fresh products.

With restaurateur parents and Italian origins through her father, Jen was immersed in the restaurant business from a very young age, as she admits with a laugh: “I was immersed in it in a diaper, as they say.” Born in Essonne, she stayed there throughout her adolescence, and was not exactly destined for a career in food, with her CAP as a photographer in hand. Family history caught up with her and, during her two decades of career, she always had the desire to open her own business. “My first job when I arrived in the region was at Grau-du-Roi, the Chez Juliette restaurant,” she remembers, “and when there was Covid, I had the chance to work in the area of the community, which allowed me to see something other than catering. But I always had in mind setting up a restaurant or a snack bar.”

Her mother living in Nîmes, route d’Uzés, since the death of her father in 2015, Jennifer Strina then frequents the businesses of Croix-de-fer, and in particular La Fournée whose owner, who is leaving the region, is actively looking for a successor. After two months of working in the store, the young woman announced her decision: “It’s OK, I’m going for it. But, from the start, I knew I was going to buy again.”

Today, after some development work, she is already thinking about development projects, such as crepes made to order, a display with regional wines and delicatessens. Beyond a simple boutique, the young woman hopes, above all, to create a friendly place where customers can relax for a moment and remake the world while drinking a coffee. But that’s another story.
