Jennifer López will perform at the Global Citizen concert in New York

New York, Aug 9 (EFE) .- The singer Jennifer López will be part of the Global Citizen solidarity concert in New York, to be held next September, a performance with which the artist will return to her hometown.
“We are delighted to welcome Jennifer Lopez to the Central Park stage on September 25 to continue our impact together,” Global Citizen Senior Vice President Katie Hill said in a statement, recalling that the New Yorker was already part of the Vax Live campaign, with which 26 million coronavirus vaccines were secured for those most in need.
The person in charge of “On the Floor” was excited about her participation in the concert: “How excited! See you soon NYC!”, López commented on social networks.
Global Citizen, which coincides with the UN General Assembly in New York, also includes events in Lagos, Rio de Janeiro, Paris, London, Seoul, Los Angeles and Sydney, in which stars such as Billie Eilish, Shawn will perform. Mendes, Ed Sheeran, Lizzo, Metallica, Lorde, The Weeknd, Ricky Martin, BTS, Camilla Cabello, Cold Play, Demi Lovato, Usher, Green Day, Duran Duran and Doja Cat.
With the event, the governments and companies of the world will be asked to help end poverty and famines, fight against climate change and promote equal access to the coronavirus vaccine.
Specifically, world leaders will be required to plant 1 billion trees to help prevent the global temperature rise of 1.5 degrees Celsius, the shipment of 1 billion covid-19 vaccines to poor countries, and food for 41 million people are at risk of famine.
For the New York concert, attendees will be required to have received the vaccine at least 14 days before the event, while those who cannot meet this requirement for medical reasons will have to submit a negative covid test performed less than 72 hours before.
