Jennifer Lopez in an interview with the publication Variety said that she and her husband Ben Affleck suffer from PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) due to the abrupt breakup of their previous relationship almost on the eve of the wedding.
“But we’re older now. We are wiser. We also know what’s important, what really matters in life, and it’s not so much about what other people think. It’s about being true to who you are,” Lopez said.
She gave some hope to fans eager to see the couple on screen, saying the couple “love being together and working together.”
“I think we learned last time that love, if you’re lucky enough to find it, is so sacred and special that you have to keep it a secret from everyone,” Lopez said.
She partly blamed tabloid attention for her previous breakup with Affleck.
Lopez and Affleck dated in 2002-2003, they got engaged, but the couple broke up before the wedding. In the spring of 2021, they resumed their relationship, and in July 2022 they secretly got married in Las Vegas, at Affleck’s house.
As reported EADailyOn February 16, 2024, Lopez is preparing to release her first studio album after a ten-year hiatus.
The album, titled This Is Me…Now, will celebrate the 20th anniversary of its sister album This is Me…Then. The album’s compositions will combine R&B, pop, hip-hop and J.Lo’s vocals.
The first single from the album, Can’t Get Enough, will be released on January 10 next year.
