Spain has announced the squad for the Olympic qualifiers later in October.

Then Jennifer Hermoso, 33, is back in the national team for the first time since the WC final.

Jennifer Hermoso was not in the Spanish national team that faced Sweden and Switzerland in September. Confederation captain Montserrat Tomé justified it by wanting to “protect the player”.

That picture was not shared by the 33-year-old himself.

“Protect me from what? And from whom?” Hermoso said in a statement on X.

Now she is back in the Spanish national team that will face Italy and Switzerland in the Olympic qualifier (Nations League).

It is the first time she has been involved since the kissing scandal in connection with the World Cup final last summer, where she was kissed on the mouth against her will by confederation president Luis Rubiales

Testified in court

Rubiales is accused of sexual harassment and last week Hermoso testified in court.

– I don’t deserve to have to experience all this. It has been very difficult to go out. I have had to travel from Madrid for the pressure to release a little. Why do I have to sit inside and cry when I haven’t done anything? Hermoso said in court.
