Jennifer Aniston hopes that her Friendscolleague and close friend Matthew Perry will be remembered as “a man who lived a good life and helped others.” The actress says this in her first interview after his death Variety.
According to Aniston, that’s how her good friend would like to be remembered. About the last period of his life, she says: “He was happy and healthy. He had stopped smoking and was working hard on his fitness.”
Aniston still had app contact with the actor on the morning of his death. “He wasn’t in pain. He wasn’t struggling.”
All reactions to Perry’s death mention the Friends-actress “so beautiful”. “I hope he knows he was loved. I miss him very much. We all miss him. Boy, did he make us laugh so hard.”
Perry died in October at the age of 54. He was best known for his role as Chandler Bing in the hit series Friends alongside Aniston, David Schimmer, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow. In 2022, Perry released his memoir: Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing: a Memoir. In it he talks about his years of struggle with alcohol and drug addiction.
