Former Teen Mom 2 star David Eason was arrested last week for allegedly drunk driving, among other charges. The Columbus County Sheriff’s Department told The Sun that Eason, 33, was arrested last Friday night and charged with DWI, license revoked driving and possession of an open container in the car’s passenger area . Eason’s wife and former Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans has yet to comment on the arrest.
Eason was reportedly handcuffed Friday night and formally charged with several traffic violations. He underwent a field field sobriety test which he passed, but is still due in court on February 9, 2022. Police sources said Eason was also cited for driving with an expired license and for driving at excessive speed. He was charged with driving with his license revoked in July 2020, so this is not his first offense.
Eason is one of the most controversial stars of the Teen Mom franchise, having left the show shortly before his wife over her homophobic public comments. Eason has been arrested several times since 2012, including several incidents of DWI and a few suspected violent crimes. In 2016, he was arrested for violating a domestic violence protection order that his ex Olivia Leedham had taken against him, and in 2020 he was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly hitting her. one of Evans’ friends on the back of his head with the butt of a handgun.
Evans herself has revealed that Eason’s license was suspended last year – apparently by accident. Responding to a fan’s comment on one of her TikTok videos, she wrote, “How do you lose an unpaid child support license ?! It’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Dave had an unpaid seat belt ticket. In the state of North Carolina, they will SUSPEND your license until you pay for your tickets. He was therefore never dismissed and was only suspended for 2 days. ”
According to a report from The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, Eason was scheduled to appear in court on Friday for a previous traffic violation. If he didn’t show up or pay some overdue tickets, that could explain why his license was revoked when he was arrested on Friday night. Regardless, Eason now has two separate cases open – one in Columbus County, North Carolina, and one in Pender County, North Carolina.
