Some of the actors who voiced the new animated film Grunt came to the premiere in cinema Tuschinski in Amsterdam in a special way on Sunday. Henry van Loon, Jelka van Houten and Alex Klaassen, among others, were dropped off in front of the door by cargo bike.
In Grunt For her ninth birthday, Babs receives the piglet Knor from her grandfather from America. Her parents aren’t too happy about that. Babs is only allowed to keep him on the condition that Piglet attends puppy training. But then it turns out that Grandpa secretly has other plans with Knor.
The main roles in the film are voiced by Jelka van Houten, Kees Prins, Henry van Loon, Loes Luca and Alex Klaasen.
Knor is not a live action film, but a stop-motion animation. This means that a director gets his images by shooting clay or plastic dolls shot by shot while the doll has a slightly different pose in each shot. By playing these images one after the other, it seems as if the puppets are moving. This technique is used, for example, for the British series Wallace & Gromitabout a man and his dog.
The film, which was previously shown at foreign festivals, will be shown in Dutch cinemas from 13 July.
