Lūcija Ņefedova was born in 1933 in Liepāja, Alūksne district, but since the age of two, the director’s life has been connected with Sigulda. The director recalls with gratitude her teacher at the Sigulda School of Literature, who, no matter how poor the conditions, took students to Riga theaters, the opera, says the website of the Adolf Alunans Museum.
At the age of 23, Lucia Nephedova went to Cesis, where she worked as the director of the Pioneer House. Here she also had her own dramatic group and large-scale productions, such as “Lolita’s Wonderland”.
In January 1965, Lucia Nephedov took over the management of Adolf Alunan Jelgava Folk Theater. While working at the Jelgava Adolf Alunans Theater, director Lūcija Ņefedova has staged about 150 performances, paying special attention to Latvian drama.
Lucia Nefedova also invited professional actors, such as Elza Radzins, who participated in several productions.
In 1983, the director was awarded the title of Worker of Merit-Rich Culture of the Latvian SSR, in 1998 the director received the Order of the Three Stars for Merit for Latvia, and this year the director received the Jelgava City Badge of Honor.
In 2004, Lucia Nefedova was awarded a Lifetime Scholarship by the Cultural Capital Foundation for her long-term work and great contribution to the development of the Republic’s theatrical art.
