Beating Daejeon and Pohang, leaping to 3rd place
Jeju United, a professional football team, won 5-0 in an away game against Suwon FC thanks to Seo Jin-soo’s multi-goal and Ahn Tae-hyeon, Kim Ju-gong, and Yuri’s goals, and ran a five-game winning streak.
Jeju won 5-0 in an away game against Suwon FC in the 13th round of Hana One Q K League 1 2023 held at Suwon Sports Complex at 7:00 pm on the 14th.
Jeju brought out a lineup similar to the last game. Kim Dong-jun wore goalkeeper gloves, and Jeong-woon, Lim Chae-min, and Kim O-gyu formed the back three. Lee Ju-yong, Lee Ki-hyeok, Lee Chang-min, and Ahn Hyun-beom took the second line, and Seo Jin-soo, Kwak Seung-min, and Kim Dae-hwan took the front line.
Regarding Kim Joo-won and Koo Ja-cheol, who were left out of the lineup, coach Nam Ki-il explained, “I thought Kim Joo-won was a starter, but I left him out because he was in poor condition. In the case of Koo Ja-cheol, he said he wanted to rest to manage his condition, so he was excluded from the condition management dimension.”
Jeju had possession of the ball from the beginning of the first half and aimed at the opponent’s goal, but the attack was seldom resolved. In response, Jeju displayed its will to score the first goal in the 11th minute of the first half by excluding Kwak Seung-min and Kim Dae-hwan, who were U-22 cards, and putting in Hayes and Kim Ju-gong.
In the 22nd minute of the first half, Ahn Hyun-beom’s shot, which received a kill pass from Kim Ju-gong, was blocked by the goalkeeper, but Ahn Hyun-beom’s offside was pointed out.
In the 33rd minute of the first half, Kim Joo-gong’s shot, which received a sensational pass from Lee Chang-min, was blocked by the goalkeeper, causing regret.
Jeju, who continued to press the opponent, eventually scored the opening goal. After a corner kick in the 39th minute of the first half, when the opposing goalkeeper couldn’t catch the ball, Kim Ju-gong gave it to Lim Chae-min who was behind. Lim Chae-min, who was digging into the area to the left of the penalty, tripped over the opponent’s defense, but referee Kim Dae-yong did not point out the foul, but rather pointed out Jeju’s foul in the ensuing situation. However, after a video review (VAR), Jeju’s penalty kick was declared. Seo Jin-soo, who started as the kicker, scored the first goal with a powerful shot that deceived the goalkeeper.
The first half ended with Jeju leading 1-0.
At the start of the second half, Suwon FC took out Park Joo-ho and Jung Jae-yoon and put in Murilo and Luan to score an equalizer. In response, Jeju removed Lee Ju-yong and put Ahn Tae-hyun in, demonstrating its will to keep the victory.
In the 10th minute of the second half, Ahn Hyun-beom’s shot was blocked by the defense, causing regret.
Bad news hit Jeju, which was leading by one goal. In the 15th minute of the second half, Lee Ki-hyeok collided with an opponent and was replaced due to an injury. Kim Bong-soo was put in place of Lee Ki-hyeok.
In the 17th minute of the second half, Hayes, who opened the side, took a shot, but the goalkeeper blocked it.
In the 19th minute of the second half, Hayes, who received a pass from Seo Jin-soo, took another shot, but it went straight to the goalkeeper.
Jeju eventually succeeded in scoring the second goal and was completely ahead of the game. In the 23rd minute of the second half, Seo Jin-soo, who received a corner kick from Hayes, changed the direction well and scored the second goal with a sensational shot. It was a wonderful goal made by the players of Jeju and Suwon FC, taking advantage of the gap where Suwon FC’s defensive concentration was disturbed.
Jeju, who gained momentum, even made the third goal. In the 32nd minute of the second half, Ahn Hyun-beom, who opened the side, raised a cross. Kim Joo-gong tried to shoot with a heel kick, but it didn’t go into the goal, and Ahn Tae-hyun, who was running, finished it calmly. As soon as the third goal was scored, the relay camera caught the roar of coach Nam Ki-il, who usually did not express emotions.
Jeju made the 4th goal and virtually ended the game. In the 38th minute of the second half, Hayes, who received a free kick from Lee Chang-min, turned it over with a header, and Kim Joo-gong finished with a header to lead 4-0.
In the 41st minute of the second half, Jeju took out Hayes and put Yuri in the game.
Lee Seung-woo made a comeback goal in the 44th minute of the second half, but Lee Seung-woo’s offside was pointed out and the goal was not recognized. In less than a minute after Suwon FC’s comeback goal was canceled for offside, Jeju even scored the 5th goal. In the 45th minute of the second half, Yuri received Seo Jin-su’s cross and finished it off. Score 5-0.
No additional goals were scored during the extra time in the second half, and the match ended with a 5-0 Jeju victory.
With this, Jeju continued its 5-game winning streak, and at the same time pulled down Pohang and Daejeon on the 13th and jumped to third place.
On the other hand, Jeju will challenge Seoul for a 6-game winning streak on the 20th. <헤드라인제주>
