Mexico, November 19._ Businessman Jeff Bezos intends to donate most of that fortune. The founder and former CEO of Amazonia today he is the fourth richest person on the planet, with about 124,000 million dollars.
While he didn’t give too many details about his plan, he told CNN that he still mentioned what areas he now thinks his money could help. On the one hand, fight climate change. On the other hand, to help people “who can unify humanity” in a time of increasingly marked political and social divisions.
When asked if his intention is to donate most of his fortune over his lifetime, Jeff Bezos replied:
“The hard part is figuring out how to do it in a leveraged way. It’s not easy. Building Amazon wasn’t easy. It took a lot of hard work, a very smart peer group, and I’m finding that philanthropy is pretty much the same thing. It’s very difficult. There are also many ways I think you could do things that are ineffective, so you need to think carefully and you need brilliant people on the team. We are building the capacity to be able to give this money away.”

Idea under development
For now, the entrepreneur hasn’t said much more about his idea, nor about when he would implement it. The truth is, Jeff Bezos joins the long list of millionaires who have publicly expressed a desire to part with their fortune use it for charitable causes. Something many have yet to prove to be legit, and not just a marketing ploy. In 2017, Jeff Bezos posted a message on Twitter asking for ideas for donating his money.
