Elon Musk retains first place, LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault drops to third place

Moscow. 17 October. INTERFAX.RU – Founder of Amazon.com Inc. Jeff Bezos has surpassed the head of LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton Bernard Arnault and took second place in the list of the richest people in the world, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Bezos’s fortune has increased by $49.3 billion since the beginning of the year thanks to the rise in price of Amazon shares and reached $156 billion. Arnault lost $6.95 billion in 2023, and now his fortune is estimated at $155 billion.
The first place is held by Tesla CEO Elon Musk, the only person in the world whose fortune exceeds $200 billion. Since the beginning of the year, the 52-year-old businessman has become richer by $96.8 billion, to $234 billion.
Tesla shares have risen in price by 106% since the beginning of the year, the price of Amazon shares jumped by 58%, while LVMH’s capitalization decreased by 2.1%.
