Jeff Bezos Plans to Sell Up to 50 Million Amazon Shares, Other Executives to Sell 440 Thousand: SEC Report

American entrepreneur Jeff Bezos intends to sell up to 50 million shares of the Amazon company he founded within a year; other executives will sell approximately 440 thousand of its securities. This is evidenced by the annual reporting for the US Securities and Exchange Commission published on the corporation’s website.

As follows from the document, the plan was agreed upon in November 2023. It calls for Bezos to sell, “subject to certain conditions, up to 50 million shares of Amazon common stock during a period ending on January 31, 2025.” Their total value will be about $8.6 billion at the current securities price.

According to reports, at least seven representatives of the management of the corporation and its various divisions are also planning to sell Amazon shares in the coming years and months. They intend to sell a total of about 440 thousand securities.

According to specialized media estimates, Bezos currently owns about 988 million shares of the corporation. Amazon was founded in 1994 as an online bookstore. Now it is one of the world’s largest companies selling goods and services via the Internet.

Bezos is now ranked third on Bloomberg’s list of the world’s richest people. His fortune is estimated at $185 billion. The entrepreneur is also the founder of the aerospace company Blue Origin.
