The Jeddah Federation announced on Monday that its Egyptian player, Tariq Hamed, had undergone facial surgery after he left with an injury against Tunisian Sfaxien in the Arab Football Club Championship on Sunday.
Al-Ittihad wrote in its account on the “X” social networking platform, formerly known as “Twitter”: Tariq Hamed underwent surgery at the site of his injury in front of Sfaxien, which was successful.
Hamed, 34, was hit in the face while falling to the ground, in a shot that caused Hussein Ali, the Sfaxien player, to be sent off five minutes before the break, and after returning to the video assistant referee.
Ittihad Jeddah won with Karim Benzema’s goal to secure qualification to the quarter-finals of the King Salman Cup for Arab Clubs.
