Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – In a groundbreaking initiative, the Education Department in Jeddah hosted a Mental Health Forum, emphasizing the importance of a healthy work environment. Tawashi Al-Kinani, Education Assistant for the Governorate of Jeddah, inaugurated the forum, attended by over 500 student advisors and educational leaders from across the region.

Mr. Al-Kinani highlighted the Saudi government’s commitment to prioritizing people’s well-being, citing the “Development of Human Ability” program as an example. This program aims to provide individuals with the resources and support they need to thrive.
The forum also underscored the Jeddah Education Department’s early adoption of flexible working hours, designed to boost employee morale and create a more supportive work environment.
The forum featured insightful presentations by leading experts in psychology and psychiatry. Discussions centered around the vital role of leadership in supporting mental health, strategies for preventing psychological disorders, and the impact of job burnout on mental well-being.
Key recommendations emerged from the forum, including the need for a balanced workload distribution among employees, ensuring fairness and equity. Participants also emphasized the importance of promoting psychological first aid awareness among educators and those working with students.
