The leadership team at Dubai Customs continues its field visits to customs centers to follow up on its efforts aimed at developing performance in keeping with the continuous growth in Dubai’s foreign trade.
Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director General of Dubai Customs and CEO of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, paid an evening field visit to the Jebel Ali Customs Center and Tecom of the Maritime Customs Centers Department, which was attended by the department’s leadership team.
During the visit, Mosbeh met with Rashid Saif Al-Dabbah Al-Suwaidi, Director of the Maritime Customs Centers Department (in charge), Fouad Al-Suwaidi, Senior Manager of Jebel Ali and Tecom Customer Service Centers, and a number of managers and officials at the center. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih and the leadership team made an inspection tour of the center, where he was briefed on the workflow and met the employees while carrying out their tasks to follow up the continuous development in the speed of completion and the quality of services provided to customers to make them happy and enhance their ability to achieve the best returns from their choice of Dubai as a destination for their commercial operations, in order to support the ability of the emirate To achieve more upward growth in its foreign trade, in implementation of the economic objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, by working to double Dubai’s foreign trade in goods and services to reach 25 trillion dirhams in the next ten years.
Ahmed Mahboob Musabih said: “We are constantly developing customs services and facilities to meet the requirements of the upcoming growth in Dubai’s foreign trade, and therefore we are keen to follow up the progress of work in our customs centers through field observation of the improvement achieved in the centers in terms of the quality of service provided, the efficiency of inspections and the speed in processing Achievement, to ensure the flow of commercial goods with a high flow that supports Dubai’s ability to increase the volume and value of its foreign trade at an accelerated pace.
He added: “Jebel Ali Customs Center and TECOM play a pivotal role in supporting growth in Dubai trade by achieving smooth trade in the Jebel Ali Port and Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) and TECOM. Therefore, our efforts continue to develop the capabilities of the employees at the center through continuous training and continuous follow-up. In order to enable them to achieve the highest levels of efficiency in accomplishing their tasks by using the best smart applications of information technology and artificial intelligence, as the advanced container inspection device in Jebel Ali is one of the best international container inspection systems, as its capacity reaches 500 containers per hour.
Rashid Saif Al-Dabbah Al-Suwaidi said: “The Jabal and Tecom Customs Center achieved a great development in the levels of achievement in the year 2022, as the number of customs data completed by the center reached 2.601 million customs declarations, which included commercial goods weighing 9.374 billion kilograms, and last year the center completed 208.9 thousand operations.” It inspected commercial shipments and succeeded in carrying out 326 customs seizures, and the center’s work teams continue to develop performance to achieve a permanent improvement in the level of customs work in support of economic development in the Emirate of Dubai and the UAE in general.
