One was the youngest lawyer in the GDR, the other the youngest defense minister in the Federal Republic. While Gregor Gysi entered politics at the age of 42, Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg’s political career ended at the age of 39. After a plagiarism scandal surrounding his doctoral thesis, he resigned from all political offices in 2011. Today he is only politically active as a CSU member, but he has always remained interested in politics. In their joint podcast “Gysi gegen Guttenberg”, the left-wing figurehead and the former CSU star have been exchanging ideas about Germany’s issues since the summer. We are very pleased to exclusively welcome Gregor Gysi and Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg on this occasion.

What a year for actress Andrea Kathrin Loewig. In January she celebrated the 1000th episode of “In aller Friendship” with her colleagues from the popular Sachsenklinik. With Thomas Rühmann, known as Dr. Heilmann, she is, so her Dr. Katrin Globisch, now even married. In real life, she will step in front of the altar of St. Thomas Church with her husband Andreas Thiele in 2021. In May of this year, the long-awaited honeymoon to a dream beach in the Maldives finally follows. Now the Merseburg native is looking forward to Christmas with her family. We can celebrate with her as a star guest in Gunther Emmerlich’s Christmas show on December 20th.

His business is not life, but what comes after: death. Every day Prof. Dr. Michael Tsokos from Career Dead. Tsokos has been a forensic doctor for 30 years and has examined more than 200,000 corpses to date. The head of the State Institute for Forensic and Social Medicine in Berlin and the forensic medicine department at the Berlin Charité is also an internationally recognized forensics expert. Michael Tsokos processes what he has seen and experienced in his books: this is also the case recently in the true crime thriller “With cold precision”.

You can hardly get any blonder than him on German television: Guido Cantz, the former “Do you understand fun?” presenter, is celebrating his 30th television anniversary this year. Back then, however, his career began as a redhead. For two years now, the platinum-blonde comedian has been fulfilling his own long-standing desires: after crossing the Alps on foot, the 52-year-old is now publishing his own cookbook.

She has been back as a solo artist for four years and has been unstoppable since then: Jeanette Biedermann. The 43-year-old’s songs usually take a deep look into her soul. The Berliner celebrates the premiere of her new song “Sing” in the riverboat. Her message: We shouldn’t forget how beautiful life actually is. Together with Gregor Meyle, Jeanette Biedermann is also presenting the second edition of the ARD show “Your Songs”, which can be seen in the ARD media library from December 8th.

“Schroeder is allowed to do everything” – is not just his new satirical show on ARD. Cabaret artist Florian Schroeder comments daily and doesn’t mince his words. For his new book “Among the Insane – Why We Need Evil” he sat down at a table with criminals, liars, right-wing extremists and climate activists. The 44-year-old explains in “Riverboat” how much evil there is in all of us and why he is afraid of his evil sides.
- Beatrice Bierbaum, Dresden stollen baker
Christmas time is Dresden Stollen time. The famous pastry can look back on almost 600 years of history. The Bierbaum confectionery from Niedersedlitz on the outskirts of Dresden has been making Dresden Stollen since 1933. Beatrice Bierbaum is now running the small family business in the third generation. Her mother, her husband and her son help out just as diligently when production of the stollen begins in October, which is popular far beyond Dresden’s borders.
