Jean-Pierre Gorges, his arm in a sling, assumes that he “asked for help” from the famous chatbot to pay tribute to the Liberation fighters.
“I’m going to tell you a secret”. In beginning his speech for the commemorations of May 8, the mayor of Chartres, Jean-Pierre Gorges, did not elude the origin of his writing. “To write this tribute to the women and men who gave their lives and paid the blood price, I asked for help” he begins in a speech published on Facebook and spotted by Le Figaro.
“With my sick arm – the chosen one had his arm in a sling, editor’s note – it was difficult to write so I engaged in a discussion with a new entity which does not know what neither flesh nor blood is. A mind without a soul: an artificial intelligence,” he says.
“The future…”
Clearly, the elected official used ChatGPT to write his speech. Very factual and ultimately without any emphasis, the conversational robot notably returned to the town square of Chartres during the Liberation.
“The commemoration of the anniversary of victory in Europe is important to remember the sacrifices and the bravery of the soldiers who participated in the war” writes ChatGPT.
“It’s also a moment to honor those who lost their lives during the war and to pay tribute to those who survived” continues artificial intelligence before Jean-Pierre Gorges takes over.
“Amazing, eh, the future”, he launches to his listeners.
“This artificial intelligence repeats itself a bit (…) it’s still a bit long, perhaps” he admits, “but we can read in it the respect that I asked him to have for our dead and our fighters. “At least the chatbot seems to have convinced the chosen one.
