Jean-Paul Philippot files a complaint following a denunciation by RTBF employees

RTBF general manager Jean-Paul Philippot has decided to file a complaint against “x” for defamation, announces Tuesday Evening, after learning that RTBF employees have filed a letter with the Brussels public prosecutor’s office accusing him of various offenses. His lawyer, Marc Uyttendaele, confirmed to Belga that the complaint was imminent. Tuesday morning, the Sudpresse group announced that several RTBF employees came forward to the Brussels public prosecutor’s office and gave them a letter in which they denounce embezzlement by Jean-Paul Philippot. Last January, the administrator of the Belgian French-speaking public television channel was ordered to reimburse a surplus salary of 60,000 euros which he wrongly received between 2014 and 2018. However, the government of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation has not pointed out no fault committed in the head of Jean-Paul Philippot.

The letter, which mentions embezzlement and cheating on the part of Jean-Paul Philippot, is untrue, according to Me Marc Uyttendaele. “It attacks the audits and reports of independent experts who were requested by the government and who had no gift to give to Mr. Philippot. And these audits and reports note that indeed the ceiling of 245,000 euros [de salaire annuel] was outdated but that there was no form of illegality. When we talk about criminal offenses, I would like someone to show it to me! They are completely non-existent, “said the lawyer.

For the latter, several people are trying to destabilize his client but also the RTBF. “This time we are going to blow the whistle on recess and we are going to file a complaint for slander and defamation in the hands of a Brussels investigating judge”, he said, speaking of a lynching of which he is a victim Jean-Paul Philippot.
