Jean-Marie Dedecker disappointed with the decisions of the Consultative Committee … (Middelkerke)

Middelkerke –

Jean-Marie Dedecker (independent), mayor of Middelkerke, is disappointed after the decisions taken by the Consultation Committee on Friday. He finds it incomprehensible that the terraces of the catering industry are not yet allowed to reopen. “Let us take action,” he says.

With the Easter holidays approaching, Dedecker regrets that the coastal catering industry must remain closed. “It is difficult for me to understand that people are put on the train, next to each other, in their thousands at the same time, but as soon as they reach the seawall, they are not allowed to sit on a chair. Also, don’t sit on the beach, ”the coastal mayor told Focus WTV. “Leave the beach bars open. We have time, we have healthy air. ”

Dedecker also appeals to his fellow mayors at the same time. “Let’s get up, let’s take action if the government doesn’t.” The mayor of Nieuwpoort, Geert Vanden Broucke, is already joining his colleague. “When we have thousands of people walking around here, I don’t know how to solve it,” he says. “We already provide public toilets in five places, but that is not enough. We should organize ten, but that is not so easy as a city. ”
