Pope Francis is not the only celebrity to visit Marseille this Friday.
Jean-Luc Mélenchon, emblematic figure of La France Insoumise, will also be present this evening in the Marseille city. Here’s why.
Mélenchon in solidarity with migrants
During his visit to Marseille, the sovereign pontiff will address the issue of migrants, particularly during his participation in the Mediterranean Meetings.
He won’t be the only one. This Friday, the political party La France Insoumise announces that its most emblematic figure will be present at theAftera former McDonald’s that became a solidarity restaurant, in Sainte-Marthe (14th).
In an emblematic place of fraternity, in solidarity with the victims of anti-migrant barbarism, secular contemplation echoing the action of the believers who gathered in the ceremony with Pope Francis.

Bompard or Delogu with Mélenchon
Jean-Luc Mélenchon, former deputy of the Marseille city, will be accompanied by Manuel Bompard, his successor, but also by Sebastien Delogu, as well as MEPs such as Marina Mesure and Younous Omarjee.
One thing is certain: he does not plan to attend the high mass celebrated by Pope Francis tomorrow Saturday at the Vélodrome stadium.
