Saturday January 13, 2024, Jean-Louis Delhumeau, former mayor of Piriac-sur-Mer for 28 years, was celebrated for his political commitment by obtaining the city’s medal.

“I also appoint you honorary mayor of Piriac-sur-Mer forever,” announced with emotion the current councilor Emmanuelle Dacheux.

Five mandates

Becoming mayor in 1986, he was able to change the town over five terms through significant achievements such as the redevelopment of the town, the pedestrianization of its streets or the creation of the water basin alongside Guy Mabo.

He also played a key role in the creation of intercommunality and was involved in numerous economic, cultural and sporting development projects such as the creation of the Maison du Patrimoine or the sailing school with Claude Thourot.

Three other medalists

Sébastien Liarte, owner of the regional products shop, Sophie Touguet, director of the tourist office and Guy Mabo, municipal councilor and president of the Cercle Nautique, also received the city medal for their commitments.
