After a stint in Bagnols, the presidential candidate discussed with business leaders on various themes on Wednesday in Saint-Etienne-des-Sorts.
On Wednesday, MP Jean Lassalle, candidate for the Resistons party in the presidential election, came to Saint-Etienne-des-Sorts to meet the entrepreneurs at the La Pergola restaurant. Jean Lassalle was accompanied by Christophe Prevost, departmental relay in the Gard of the candidate, Dalila Berbagui, campaign director, and his spokesperson Antoinette Walkowiak. Didier Bonneaud, former mayor of Saint-Etienne-des-Sorts and municipal councilor at the town hall of Pont-Saint-Esprit, was present. The latter introduced the meeting dedicated to the economy.
Several topics were discussed: the establishment of a structure and the difficulties of settling in; salary difficulties with significant charges and the loss of unvalued work value accentuated by the pandemic; competition with China with an increase in the cost of import-dependent materials; the decrease in purchasing power; better taxation for SMEs and SMIs.
Other discussions focused on 35 hours, the euro, school, work-study contracts, increasing the number of internships to find one’s way, the devaluation of manual work, public services.
Christèle, from the Pergola, testified: “ With the health crisis, the situation is not easy, I am optimistic by nature, I started working at 16, I have been around the world on cruise ships. I’m happy in my job.” Her son Aurélien, a graduate in audiovisual, works with her in the restaurant. He is training in system maintenance in the company and hopes to bounce back.
For Jean Lassalle, it is necessary that everyone brings their stone to the building. “ The secret of the election is to restore the impulse of the feeling of usefulness with envy and honor. He wants to rebuild the national fabric, rehabilitate the provinces, and make the municipalities regain their ability to act. “The important thing is to go and vote for themselves (we no longer vote for municipal elections, it devalues municipalities). Knowing who I was going to vote for is one of the reasons why I am running.” Jean Lassalle’s new book will be released on March 6.
