DRUMMONDVILLE. Jean-François Savoie was appointed new general director and manager of the Drummond Historical Society, following the departure of Geneviève Béliveau.
The Drummond Historical Society says it is very pleased to count on the expertise and experience of Jean-François Savoie as the new general director and manager of the organization.
Originally from Drummondville, Jean-François Savoie holds a bachelor’s degree in communications/journalism from UQAM, a bachelor’s degree in musicology from the University of Montreal and completed a double master’s degree in communications history.
He has worked, among others, as editor-in-chief, advertising account director, communications manager and photographer at Bell Media, Sympatico, La Presse, the Huffington Post, the Auto Guide and the watershed organization of the Richelieu River.
“It is a pleasure to have returned to the city of my youth,” says Mr. Savoie, “and to be able to contribute to the duty of memory for our community. Each of the previous generations faces particular challenges and the lessons learned from them should always be able to benefit the following generations,” he says.
Resolutely focused on the future, the Drummond Historical Society (SHD) is embarking on a pivotal year during which many changes will mark its future.
The SHD is a non-profit organization whose mission is the acquisition, conservation, promotion and dissemination of the documentary heritage of the MRC of Drummond. (LT)
