Jean Castex ready to suspend the vaccine pass … on three conditions

VACCINATION PASS – The government announced this Thursday evening, January 20, the lifting, in February, of most of the restrictions taken to curb the epidemic: end of wearing a mask outdoors and compulsory telework, reopening of nightclubs and return of standing concerts.

“We will be able in February to lift most of the restrictions taken to curb the epidemic thanks to the new vaccination pass which will come into force next Monday”, announced the Prime Minister during a press conference in Matignon.

In this context of relaxation of restrictions, Jean Castex also gave leads on a possible suspension of the vaccine pass in the future.

“You have to know how to react quickly when necessary, but you also have to know how to lift the measures as soon as the conditions allow it to do so. This also applies to the vaccination pass”, declared the Prime Minister during his press conference, before giving three conditions for a possible suspension (listen in the video below).

“Its necessity is beyond doubt today, but I want to be clear: the pass could very well be suspended if the epidemic and above all hospital pressure were to reduce sharply and durably; if our intensive care units did not see new patients arriving for several weeks; if our hospitals were no longer forced to deprogram care”, he lists as well.

“If the health pressure drops to the lowest, then we would have to lift the pass, while obviously being ready to reactivate it in the event of a restart”, he concludes.
