The vice-president of Forza Nova filed his list yesterday at the prefecture of Ajaccio. The candidate believes he has rallied beyond his party. He advances towards the election without an ally and distributes the protrusions to the attention of his opponents. Without sparing the candidate of the National Rally
His youthful face betrays the determination that is his.
At 24, Jean-Antoine Giacomi launches into the battle of territorial with the enthusiasm of his inexperience but determined to “defending the interests of Corsica and Corsicans”.
Yesterday, he was accompanied by his campaign manager Filippo De Carlo, and his running mate Pierre-Ange Martini, that he submitted his list to the prefecture.
“I wanted to know if we were able to gather more widely, I did not want to lock myself in my only political party”, specifies the candidate. Vice President of New Force, Jean-Antoine Giacomi, believes he has won his first bet.
Alexandra Mainetti, the first woman on the list, was in 40th position on Jordan Bardella’s list (National Rally) in the 2019 European elections.
Guillaume Luiggi followed Paul-Félix Benedetti in twenty-ninth position in the last Bastia municipal.
“And Paul Zevaco is the former vice-president of the Bonapartist central committee”, adds Giacomi. This convergence of profiles would illustrate, according to the candidate, the adhesion to a young party of which he carries the project. “This will be unveiled soon. We have already listed around fifteen measures that are already applicable with the competences which are those of the Collectivity of Corsica today”, advised Filippo De Carlo.
This field of expertise, Jean-Antoine Giacomi wishes to expand. “Our approach is sovereignist, he explains. We are campaigning for a status of shared sovereignty with the State, on the model of what Edouard Philippe proposed for New Caledonia. It is a federal vision, like the Lander in Germany or the American states. It is much more extensive than autonomy but not independence. We want to have the skills of our skills “, he explains.
“A bobo nationalism, globalized”
The acquaintances policies with others candidates appear readable. But to motivate what distinguishes them, Jean-Antoine Giacomi does not hesitate to distribute the blame, without taking gloves. Its sovereignist inclinations are not comparable to the institutional development desired by the nationalist parties. “bobos, globalized, closer to the ideas of rebellious France”. The position on the extreme right of the political spectrum is deconstructed by the sharp criticism of government action.

“In the collective unconscious, the far right is campaigning for the deprivation of liberties. Today, it is the camp of Emmanuel Macron, including Jean-Charles Orsucci who represents him in Corsica, who embodies this notion and represents so the far right. We are for the restoration of freedoms “, he shouts. A rhetoric quite close to that of the National Rally, whose island candidate also receives its share of reprimands.
“François Filoni contacted us in October, we never answered. We cannot follow a political weather vane.
He foamed all political parties. It symbolizes what has become of the RN in Corsica: an electoral shop that has deserted the land. “
Jean-Antoine Giacomi is therefore advancing towards the territorial election without an ally. But not without ambition. If the chair of the President of the Executive does not seem promised to him, he does not go “not to lose”. The 5% bar would only serve as a balance sheet since any alliance is compromised, but also as a springboard, perhaps. “Our party has a year and a half, a municipal and soon a territorial to its credit, recalls Filippo De Carlo. We are not a flash in the pan. And we are already working on the next legislative elections. “
Jean-Antoine Giacomi will be able to count on the support of his father. Head of the National Front list in 2017, where it had painfully reached 3.28%, and current mayor of Pruno, Charles Giacomi appears in 61e position on the list led by his son. “He has a vision which is not quite the same as mine, but we have no political incompatibility”, specifies Jean-Antoine. The young candidate concludes: “I don’t want to lie to people.”
