GOP vice presidential nominee JD Vance was surrounded by dozens of reporters minutes after the televised presidential debate. The media was eager to get his assessment of the performance of Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. He arrived in Philadelphia one day before the event.
According to Vance Harris, she made “a lot of mistakes” during the debate, but most of all she failed to explain why she did not achieve any of her policy goals while she was vice president, the BBC reported.
“The American people are smart enough to see things through,” he said, adding: “There was no real substance. If Kamala Harris wants to fix these issues, she should do it now, not ask for a promotion,” he added.
Much of the questioning of Vance, however, focused on claims made by both him and Donald Trump that migrants have eaten cats and dogs in American communities. “Nobody has been spreading false claims,” Vance said.
Although authorities in Springfield, Ohio said no evidence of cat eating was found, Vance continued to insist it was possible. “The problem is that a small town in Ohio is filled with too many migrants,” he said.
America got to see tonight the leader I’ve been proud to work alongside for three and a half years. Wasn’t even close. VP Harris proved she’s the best choice to lead our nation forward. We’re not going back.

Meanwhile, President Joe Biden opined that Kamala Harris won the debate, writing in an X post that “Trump wasn’t even close” to winning.
“Vice President Harris has proven that she is the best choice to lead our nation forward. We’re not going back,” Biden wrote.
The president watched the debate from a New York hotel with family and staff, according to unofficial sources, the BBC reported.
