Cessation Storm (layoffs) that hit startups in the country is now hitting e-commerce JD.ID. Up to 30% or about 200 employees have been made redundant.
News of the mass layoffs of JD.ID was originally broken by the @ecommurz Twitter account. The account said JD.ID fired today after holding city Hall for 11 minutes.
“The team was suddenly mandated to work from home this week. Those who persist (notified by email) must return to the headquarters the following week. Approximately 50-85% are said to be affected.,” the @ecommurz account tweeted.
DetikINET also tried to confirm the news to JD.ID. This was confirmed by Setya Yudha Indraswara, Head of Corporate Communications & Public Affairs JD.ID layoffsbut the number is not like the news that circulates.
There are 30% or about 200 employees affected. This decision is an adaptation step that must be undertaken by the company to respond to the challenges of business changes that are very fast lately.
