The Healthy Foods Niche of Excellence celebrated its 15th anniversary, and its 300 initiatives and collaborative projects deployed to support the growth of food processing businesses, on September 21 in front of around a hundred guests at the École Hôtelière de la Capitale during its annual meeting. Having become an independent organization in 2020, the Créneau d’excellence Aliments Santé was entrusted with the management of MYCÉLIUM, the food incubator of Quebec City, in 2021. It more recently received recognition from the Ministry of the Economy , Innovation and Energy (MEIE) to become an inter-regional group, thus making its services available to a greater number of food processors. Le Créneau currently has 60 member companies. For its 15th anniversary, the Health Foods Niche of Excellence has chosen to highlight the contribution of 15 business personalities who have left their mark on the organization and the food industry. The first three names have been revealed: Daniel Bérubé, director of business development, research and development at Cuisine Malimousse and MAG; Elaine Bélangerco-owner and vice-president of operations of Maison Orphée and Pierre Fontaine, founder of Fumoir Grizzly via a posthumous tribute.
