Jazz concerts / article will be played online once a month in the project “LV Jazz Series”

A new project “LV Jazz Series 2021” has been launched, which will offer concerts of Latvian jazz music performers in the online format of Latvijas Radio 1 studio, the project implementers informed. The concerts will take place once a month until the end of the year, and only new programs will be played in the concerts.

The concert series will be started by Matīss Čudars together with bassist Edvins Ozols and drummer Ivars Arutjunjans. Chudar is a jazz guitarist, composer and winner of the competition “Riga Jazz Stage”, who graduated from the Amsterdam Conservatory of Music. Matīss Čudars himself says about the new concert program that it will be dedicated to finding the unknown in the known. “The trio follows the path of modern jazz, looking for turns beyond the traditional formula of the genre and artistically fully finding ever new musical solutions,” noted in the project application.

Guitarist Rihards Lībietis with the group “Rihards Lībietis Orchestra”, vocal group “Insomnia”, pianist Krists Saržants, pianist and composer Toms Mikāls with a jazz quintet will also offer new concert programs in the LV Jazz Series 2021.

Video recordings of the concerts will be offered to the international jazz music network “Europe Jazz Network”, which unites more than 250 organizers of European jazz festivals, events and concert venues. Thus, the artists’ new jazz programs will also be popularized internationally.

“LV Jazz Series” is intended as an annual event that will offer listeners to get acquainted with the latest trends in Latvian jazz and will be another public platform for young artists.

The concert series is organized by SIA “Rīgas ritmi”. “LV Jazz Series 2021” concerts will be available online. More information “Rīgas ritmu” Homepage.
