Donovan Mitchell had 23 points and eight assists and the Utah Jazz broke their record for 3s in a game on Monday in their 132-110 win over the Charlotte Hornets.
Utah set a new record for the franchise with 28 three-point baskets, including 19 from players coming off the bench, the best record ever achieved by substitutes in the NBA, according to STATS.
Joe Ingles and Georges Niang led the way with seven triples each, their personal best in both cases. The two finished with 21 points. Jordan Clarkson contributed another 20 to the Jazz account.
Charlotte gave up a total of 54 3s in two games against Utah this season.
Gordon Hayward and LaMelo Ball led the Hornets with 21 points each and Malik Monk had 20. Charlotte (14-16) lost despite scoring 25 points in Utah’s 21 turnovers.
The Jazz (25-6) attacked incessantly from the perimeter throughout the first half. Before the break he had already scored 29 triples, a team record in that period.
Charlotte built her first double-digit lead early in the third quarter, when a steal and basket by PJ Washington capped a 12-1 run that put the Hornets ahead 81-70. Dallas played its first meeting in eight days after two games were postponed due to the winter storm in Texas. Kristaps Porzingis did not play, he appeared on the disabled list on game day with a stiff back.
Doncic scored 14 of his 21 points in the second half, in his first game since he was selected as the All-Star starter for the second consecutive season. His 14-game streak of at least 25 points ended on Monday.

BULLS 120, ROCKETS 100
HOUSTON (AP) – – Coby White scored 24 points and the Chicago Bulls took advantage of a great third period to extend their lead and beat a decimated Houston Rockets 120-100 on Monday night.
Zach LaVine scored 14 of Chicago’s 46 points in the third quarter and finished with 21. The Bulls outscored the Rockets by 20 points in this period to widen the gap in a game that had remained close to that point.
Chicago had runs of 15-4 and 12-0 in this quarter. In the second in a row, Houston missed four shots, two were balls in the air and leading to scores for the Bulls.
David Nwaba had 22 points as a substitute to lead Houston, which has lost eight games in a row. The Rockets’ last two games had been called off due to the winter storm and subsequent power outages in the Houston area.

PHOENIX (AP) – – Devin Booker scored 34 points, Deandre Ayton added 19 and the Phoenix Suns are still on fire with a 132-100 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday.
Phoenix has won nine of its last 10 meetings and secured the win in the third quarter. Booker hit a 3-pointer two seconds into the period — after a Portland fumble — Cam Johnson hit another triple on the horn that gave the Suns a 100-71 lead.
The 32-point difference was the Suns’ widest margin of victory this season.
Portland has lost two games in a row after winning six in a row. The Suns improved to 20-10, while the Trail Blazers are 18-12.
Booker scored points all night. He started at 17 to give the Suns a 32-26 lead in the first quarter. The sixth-year point guard went into halftime with 22 points, including an off-balance triple on the horn that gave Phoenix a 63-54 lead at halftime.
He made 12 of 17 shots from the field and his two triples. He also made his eight free throws.
Damian Lillard led the Trail Blazers with 16 points in the first half and 24 overall. Nassir Little added 18 as a substitute.
