The announcement of nominations for the South Indian International Movie Awards (SYMA) 2023 edition has been going on since the beginning of this month. The award is given to films released last year in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada languages. Films Seeking a pan-Indian market, the post-OTT language films have many foreign language stars and technologists. Now the nominations to choose the best antagonists in Telugu films are attracting the attention of the Malayalee audience. Because two of the five actors in the list are prominent Malayalam stars!
Those stars are Jayaram and Unni Mukundan. Ravi Teja starrer Dhamaka was the film that got Jayaram nominated. Unni Mukundan’s film is Yashoda in which Samantha played the title character. Written and directed by Hari-Harish, Dr. Yashoda. Unni Mukundan played the role of Gautham. Jayaram played the role of JP in Dhamaka directed by Trinatha Rao Nakina.

Yashoda is Unni Mukundan’s fourth film in Telugu. After Janata Garage with Mohanlal, Unni also acted in films like Bhagmati and Khiladi. Meanwhile, Jayaram, who is currently active in languages other than Malayalam, has acted in many Telugu films during this period. Jayaram has appeared in lead roles in films like Vijay Devarakonda and Samantha’s Khushi, Shankar’s Ram Charan’s Game Changer and Mahesh Babu’s Gundoor Karam.
