Comedian Jay Leno suffered severe burns to his face and hands. The former talk show host was hospitalized in a burn center. In a brief statement, Leno says he’s “fine.”
Leno, 72, suffered the burns this weekend while tinkering with one of his cars. He was allegedly injured when the petrol caught fire for unknown reasons.
Leno thinks he needs “a week or two” to recover. The incident will cause him to miss at least one conference in Las Vegas where he was supposed to speak.
Leno hosted The Tonight Show for many years. He retired in 2014. A year later, he launched a TV show called Jay Leno’s Garage where he drives with celebrities and talks about rare cars. He recently had US President Joe Biden as a guest. Leno reportedly has over 180 vehicles.
