The current situation of the company is decent and for the second year in a row Jawa will make a living, said Jiří Gerle, chairman of the Jihostroj engineering company, at the presentation of the commemorative silver coin dedicated to the legendary Jawa 250 motorcycle. Jihostroj is a 100% partner of Jawa Moto.
“This year, sales should be around a quarter of a billion, in two years, half a billion, and we believe that this phase will end within four to five years at the level of one billion sales,” Gerle said. According to him, the current situation of the company is solid. “I’d say Jawa’s on the water right now, he’s not drowning anymore.” dodal Gerle.
According to earlier information from the Association of the Automotive Industry, last year the production of Jawa Moto motorcycles increased by 87.2 percent year-on-year to 1,035 machines. Jawa was particularly successful on the Czech market with 791 units sold.

Jawa is one of the best known and most successful Czech industrial brands of the last century. Motorcycles that found buyers almost all over the world were once among the world’s best. The Jawa brand was registered in Czechoslovakia on August 17, 1929. Less than two months later, the company’s founder František Janeček had the brand registered with the World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva. The well-known Jawa trademark in oval was registered in 1936.
Jawa Moto was founded in 1997 as a successor company that uses the Jawa trademark. Its main business is research, development and production of motorcycles, their spare parts and accessories. The company is a subsidiary of Jihostroje.
