Javier Aguirre will consider Alex Padilla for the Mexican National Team | TUDN Selection MX

Javier Aguirre, coach of the Mexican National Team, sees Alex Padilla as a possibility and will be keeping an eye on the Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper.

The goalkeeper will be called up to the U23 for the matches they will play against Panama, however, this will allow Javier Aguirre to observe him in training since both the senior team and the U23 will be training at the high-performance center.

“The FMF sent a letter to Athletic Bilbao to be able to call up the Under 23s, but without any problem they could be training with the Seniors, taking advantage of the fact that both teams will be working at the CAR for a few days,” TUDN journalist Gibrán Araige revealed on his X account.

The senior team will begin its preparations on September 1st and will travel to Los Angeles on the 5th of the same month.

Alex Padilla is the son of a Mexican mother, although he was born in Zarautz, San Sebastián; when he was 3 months old his family moved to Celaya and he spent the first 10 years of his life there.

This day Alex Padilla is expected to be a starter against Barcelona in the second match of LaLiga, it will be Padilla’s second game in the Spanish first division and the Mexican fans are beginning to get excited about a young goalkeeper, but with European experience.
