Javelin thrower Jakub Vadlejch advances to Thursday’s final of the Olympic Games

Javelin thrower Jakub Vadlejch advances to Thursday’s final of the Olympic Games. He qualified for it with his first throw, which exceeded the qualification limit of 84 meters. With his performance of 85.63 meters, Vadlejch confirmed his role as the favorite in the fight for a medal.

“Every competitor wants to throw the first throw and leave, which I did. It’s even my longest throw in any qualification that I’ve ever done,” said the javelin thrower in an interview with iRozhlas.

Vadlejch added that success in the qualification does not mean anything.

“The final will be a new day, everyone will be fired up, we will all be at each other’s throats, that’s what the final will be about. So forget now, ideally get two good nights sleep and get down to business,” he added in the interview. (iRozhlas)
