Javelin thrower Chaksh triumphs in international competition “Golden Spike” – Athletics – Apollo.lv – Sports

Chaksh won the victory with his last, sixth, attempt, sending a “spike” at a distance of 83.41 meters.

The Latvian athlete beat the Polish record holder Marcin Krukowski, who, like Chaksh, had the best shot in the sixth run. Polis threw a spear 14 centimeters closer than Chaksh.

The third place with 78.54 meters was won by the Czech Vitezlav Wesley, who won a bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympics, but has also been a European and world champion during his career.

In the first attempt, Chakss fired a spear at a distance of 79.48 meters, but in the next three approaches the tool flew over the 80-meter mark – 81.24, 80.16 and 81.87 meters, while the fifth attempt was not counted.

This season, Chaksh has been able to throw a spear 84.56 meters away, which was possible in the President’s Award competition.

In total, six athletes took part in the men’s competition, three of whom represented the Czech Republic and two more of Poland.

Līna Mūze also started in the javelin throwing competition in Ostrava, whose first spear threw a javelin 62.86 meters. In further attempts, the Latvian failed to improve her result, as a result of which she had to settle for fourth place.

The winner of the ladies’ competition was celebrated by housewife and Olympic as well as world champion Barbora Špotākova, who with the first attempt reached the mark of 65.19 meters and set her best result this season.

Marija Andrejčika from Poland won the second place with a broadcast of 63.59 meters, and Nikolai Ogorodnikova from the Czech Republic won the bronze with 62.96 meters. She was only ten centimeters ahead of the Muse.

The Latvian javelin thrower was unsuccessful in the second, fourth and fifth attempts, but in the third and last approach the gear was sent 56.93 and 59.73 meters, respectively.

Seven athletes took part in the ladies’ competition, four of whom were Czechs, and one representative was from Latvia, Croatia and Poland.

The museum has thrown a spear 63.19 meters away in its best attempt this season.
