Javelin Music sixth place in Bern / Article

Latvian javelin thrower Līna Mūze took sixth place in the international athletics competition “CITIUS Meeting” in Bern on Saturday.

She achieved her best result in the fourth series, when the spear was thrown at a distance of 58.43 meters.

With a new competition record – 64.16 meters – the Czech Nikola Ogrodnikov won, but the second was her compatriot world record holder Barbora Špotākova, whose best result was 61.95 meters.

In the fierce battle for bronze, the Austrian Victoria Hudson defeated the Lithuanian Liveta Jasjunaitė. Both threw a spear at a distance of 61.64 meters, but the second best result was for the Austrian – 60.77 meters against 58.14.

Nine javelin throwers took part in the competition.

Meanwhile, two Latvian representatives started the Motonet GP competition in the Finnish city of Lahti on Thursday. The third with a result of 75.71 meters was Gatis Čakšs, but Rolands Štrobinders with a result of 73.93 meters – the sixth. The Finnish javelin thrower Lassi Etelatalo won with a result of 81.95 meters.

On the other hand, card player Marek Arents took the fifth place in the competition in the central square of Białystok in Poland on Friday with an overcome bar of 5.36 meters. American Matt Ludwig won with a new personal record, overcoming 5.80 meters.
